The Foundation promotes understanding of key issues through research and education programmes; drives engagement in social progress across the UK and globally, particularly in young people, and supports organisations focused on wellbeing for everyone, especially those with a tough challenge to face.
Pears Foundation is a founding partner of the BIRAX programme and has been a driving force behind its development since 2008. In addition to its generous support towards the BIRAX research grants, Conferences and Workshops, it has supported the BIRAX Fellowship scheme and the GROWTH programme that provides academic education and research exchange opportunities for British, Israeli and Palestinian young scientists.
TREVOR PEARS, CMG, EXECUTIVE CHAIR OF THE PEARS FOUNDATION:
“In 2008, when Pears Foundation first helped to establish BIRAX, our goal was to broaden and deepen cooperation between Great Britain and Israel, two of the world’s leaders in scientific research. Over the past eight yearsit is clear that this has been achieved in exciting and inspiring ways. BIRAX has become a key platform in advancing knowledge and treatment of some of the most challenging global health issues whilst facilitating lasting relationships between Israeli and British scientists and their institutions.”
